Transition. This three-month- old pup has embarked on the next phase of his guide dog journey. He now lives with his puppy raiser in Simsbury, CT. Fidelco guide dogs experience multiple important transitions in their development. They go from living on campus with their mom until eight-weeks of age, to living with volunteer puppy raisers until sixteen-months of age, to returning to campus for formal guide dog training until two-years of age. Learning how to cope with transition aids in the transition that takes place during placement with the blind handler.
